An arrow shot by an athlete after the allowed time or out of turn shall be invalid and scored as 0 points.
Any arrows shot after the match has been officially declared over by the control official (match director or judge) shall be recorded as invalid (0 points).
In case of equipment failure, the athlete shall immediately take one step back, and may repair or replace the equipment according to the official’s instructions before resuming the competition.
If equipment repair and replacement requires longer than 10 minutes, the athlete shall be considered withdrawn.
If an athlete is unable to continue shooting due to a medical issue after shooting has begun, a medical decision shall be made by the medical staff. A maximum waiting time of 15 minutes is allowed; If the athlete cannot continue thereafter, the athlete shall be considered withdrawn.
In team events, if an athlete withdraws due to medical or equipment issues, a substitute athlete may complete the match in their place.
An arrow shall be considered as “not shot” in the following cases:
- If it falls or bounces off the bow and lands within the “falling arrowl line”
(within 1m in front of the shooting line).
- If the target face or stand collapses or falls during the match. It is mandatory for all athletes (in both team and individual events) to take part in Event No. 1, the Korean Target (145m).
Exhibition Match: If a country cannot form a full team, a mixed-national team may be formed to compete in the team event. However, these teams shall be considered non-competitive and are not eligible for ranking or awards.

In the case of athletes registered only for the individual event, the Competition Headquarters shall determine the procedure separately.
If an athlete shoots fewer than the required number of arrows, only the scores of the arrows actually shot shall be counted. If an athlete shoots more than the allowed number, the athlete shall be disqualified.
Both individual and team events shall be held for all four target types, and awards shall be determined as follows:
- Individual events: After the preliminary round, top-ranking athletes shall proceed to a tournament round to determine the individual awards for each target type.
- Individual overall award: Based solely on the combined preliminary scores across all four events ( 145m, 90m, 70m, and 30m) without a separate tournament.
- Team events: Awards shall be determined solely on the basis of the combined scores from the preliminary round. No tournament matches are held.
- Scoring system: Aside from the individual overall award, all awards shall be assigned point values, which shall be totaled by nation to determine the final national overall awardBows shall be traditional bows native to the participating country, made from natural or synthetic materials. However, if a country is recognized as having no historically transmitted traditional bows or arrows, the use of alternative equipment shall be decided by the host country.

No devices may be attached to the grip of the bow. However, attachments that is intended to provide a comfortable grip are permitted.
Decorative elements such as feathers are allowed on the bow, but devices or decorations that provide a scoring advantage are prohibited.

Arrow fletchings (feathers/vanes) made from natural or synthetic materials are allowed.
Any additional restrictions or permissions not stated above will be immediately determined and enforced by the Judging Committee of the host country.
If equipment violations are discovered during the match, the corresponding arrow or shot will be declared invalid and repeated violations may result in disqualification. If violations are discovered after the match, the athlete’s entire score for that match will be invalidated.
Archery equipment : Only traditional bows (modified) and traditional arrows (modified) are permitted. No recurve bows and compound bows are permitted.
Equipment changes during a match are only allowed with the approval of a control official. If a bow and arrow is changed without approval, the shots made with the unapproved equipment will be invalid.
All athletes must pre-register their bows, arrows, and other auxiliary equipment and pass a pre-match equipment inspection. Unapproved equipment may not be used. For Korean athlete, only bows bearing the official certification sticker are permitted.
In Korea, traditional horn bows and bamboo arrows are typically distinguished from carbon bows and arrows. However, no distinction shall be made based on materials in this competition, and all equipment shall be regarded as equal without any difference in scoring or awarding. (However, all equipment must still fully comply with the specifications outlined in these regulations.)
-
Each athlete shall shoot in the designated order following the signal of the match director, and the time allowed is as follows:
- 145m: 5 arrows within 150 seconds

One official scorer shall be assigned per target.
The scorer shall record scores in coordination with the judge assigned to that target.

If any arrow other than the designated number of shots are found to have hit the target, the athlete shall be disqualified.
No distinction or priority shall be made in scoring or awarding based on the type of equipment used (e.g., horn bow vs. carbon bow, bamboo arrows vs. carbon arrows). Provided the bow and arrows comply with regulations, scores shall be awarded under equal conditions.
If arrows overlap at the same point on the target and the total number of arrows cannot be precisely identified, the scores of clearly distinguishable arrows shall be accepted, provided the total number of arrows is not deficient. If the number of arrows in uncertain or if overlapping arrows prevent accurate scoring, the Judging Committee of the host country shall make the final decision on scoring and validity
An arrow shall not be counted as a score if it rebounds after hitting the target. Only arrows that remain lodged in the target shall be recognized for scoring.
If an arrow strikes another arrow and bounces off, and the impacted arrow is visibly damaged, the arrow that was originally embedded in the target shall be recorded for scoring
If an arrow hits a target other than the one assigned to the athlete for that turn, it shall not be scored.
Before the start of competition, the match director and judges shall inspect the targets and confirm that no arrows or holes are present before declaring the competition open.
After the completion of shooting on a target, the scorer shall record the scores, and the athlete concerned shall sign the record to confirm agreement.
In the 30m Zhamby event, if the rope hanging the target breaks during the match and target falls, arrows that hit the fallen target shall still be scored as valid. However, if the target is severely damaged and scoring becomes impossible, the score shall be determined through consultation among the judges.
In the event of a tie in the final scores, the ranking shall be determined by a shoot-off among the tied athletes.
The shoot-off shall continue until the final ranking is determined.
In the individual event, each athlete shall shoot 5 arrows, and the scores shall determine the ranking.
If the ranking is not determined after the first shoot-off in the individual event, each athlete shall continue by shooting one arrow out of the five, repeating until the ranking in decided, with scores recorded accordingly.
In the team event, the shoot-offs shall follow the same procedure as in the individual event.
For the Korean-style target, there shall be 2 judges and 1 scorer per target. For all other targets, there shall be 1 judge and 1 scorer for every 2 targets.
Each target shall be staffed with an appropriate number of assistants by the competition organizer.

At the shooting line, athletes may nock and draw arrows only when instructed to do so by the match director.
Athletes shall not nock or draw bows and arrows outside of the shooting line.
